Two more...

The Pitcher Plant is a carnivorous flower that grows in bogs and marshes.
It feeds off the insects that become trapped inside the leaves when they fill with water.
It was made the provincial flower of Newfoundland in 1954.

Hi. You have a very nice blog. I think your bear on the background is so cute! You also do a good job drawing the flowers.

Robaloo~ I just LOVE what you are doing here on your blog. Teaching all of us about the flowers of Canada...that is very superifically cool!

Your paintings ~ as always ~ are very nice... love them love them love them.

I have to tell you one more thing...
I noticed how much your writing skills have improved!! WOW!!! You must have one of the most fabulous teachers a kid could ask for. Keep up the great work you talented guy!!
P.S.
After you learn about all the Canadian flowers why don't you visit the United States and check out each of our state's state flowers.

You'll be so smart about flowers and when you grow up you could become a horticulturist.

I've never heard of that flower before - and from your painting, it's much nicer looking than a venus fly trap, which is a plant that also eats bugs.

Have a great weekend!
